St. Marys Cathedral School, Addition & Remodel

The northwest Portland school, originally built in 1962, was overdue for upgrading and expansion. Robert Gray Partners was selected as the contractor to build the 6,000 square foot addition (which now houses the new science wing, library and computer lab) and the extensive 19,000 square foot of remodel work.

Story:

This project was a community effort from day one. The school initiated a capital campaign with the theme, “Building on a Century of Excellence in Education.” The students needed more space and upgraded facilities to accommodate the science and technology programs. A multipurpose / music room and covered courtyard / commons area were also added to support the school’s depth of studies. The school also received an elevator and reconfigured restrooms and locker rooms to assist the needs of physically handicapped students and visitors.
